MOTOR TRENDS is very pleased to offer this absolutely incredible, Award Winning, Matador Red, 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 210 2-door post.  You are going to be impressed with this one!  Attention to detail was obviously a major factor in this restoration.  Everything from the spare tire to the tag hanging from the radiator cap!  This one could easily be considered a trailer queen, but, I will tell you, I would personally hop in this one and drive it anywhere.... It is that reliable and drivable!

HISTORY OF THE 1957 CHEVROLET BEL AIR Initially, General Motors executives wanted an entirely new car for 1957, but production delays necessitated the 1955–56 design for one more year. Ed Cole, chief engineer for Chevrolet, dictated a series of changes that significantly increased the cost of the car. These changes included a new dashboard, sealed cowl, and the relocation of air ducts to the headlight pods, which resulted in the distinctive chrome headlight that helped make the '57 Chevy a classic. Fourteen-inch wheels replaced the fifteen-inch wheels from previous years to give the car a lower stance, and a wide grille was used to give the car a wider look from the front. The now famous '57 Chevy tailfins were designed to duplicate the wide look in the rear. Bel Air models were given gold trim: the grille, front fender chevrons, hood, and trunk script were all rendered in anodized gold. The 1957 Chevys did not have an oil pressure gauge or a voltmeter. The 1957 Chevy was called by some a "Baby Cadillac", because of many similar styling cues to Cadillacs of the time.  V8 Optioned cars got a large gold "V" under the Chevrolet script on the hood and trunk lid.

POWERTRAIN: 283 Cubic Inches, Dual 4 Barrel Carburetors and dual exhaust, 270-Horsepower, 285@4200 Llbs.ft. 3-speed manual transmission, Correct Bat Wing Air Cleaner.

EXTERIOR: The Matador Red exterior is absolutely amazing and is sure to impress anyone that looks at it!!  A ton of Chrome and stainless steel!

All of the gold accents are in excellent condition and really make this one the show quality that it is.  The Fit and finish of all the panels is amazing.  The doors close with utmost ease. (Probably better than day 1 from the factory).

INTERIOR:
Correct Bel Air 2 Door Sedan Black and Red Cloud interior, Wonderbar Radio, New Carpet.  You really have to sit in this one to appreciate just how cool this interior is!  It's like having 2 big sofas in a car!! Plus mounted on the dash is the rare option, AUTRONIC EYE (Automatic Headlight dimmer).
