Mr Bunting Purchased the Car in 1972 and in 1978 Gifted it ti his Son Mr. Bunting Jr who owned it from 1978 to 2015. Original Sticker was turned into DMV in 1978 for gift tax purposes and never returned to Mr. Bunting Jr. Nov 2015 I spoke with Mr Bunting Jr. at length about the car and he shared with me the detailed story.

If you are entertaining this car, I suggest you get in your car or on a plane and come look at it.You have to see this car in person. It is unbelievably preserved. As the saying goes "they are only original once."

*** All of our cars come from collectors, customers or reputable sources never from dealer auctions. Why is this important? Not all cars at auctions are bad, but all bad cars are at auctions.

For your convenience we took over a 150 photos, these photo are taken in natural sunlight. We don't have a mock studio or photoshop/edit any of our photos.

THE EXTERIOR, BODY AND TRIM

Original Bahia Red paint looks incredible! Black Fuch Wheels look good! Excellent clean body. All of the rubber and trim is in good shape! Original Glass with the exception of windshield in excellent shape. All of the lights and signals work properly. Still has the original spare wheel, tire and tool kit.
Paint meters original on every panel except drivers rear quarter. Per previous owner quarter was spotted in due to a parking lot damage.

    THE INTERIOR

Black hides are are in amazing shape. The front trunk carpets is also in good shape. All of the knobs and switches are in superb shape and work as they should.  No surprises a very nice interior! Windows roll up nicely. Lower door Trim is in excellent shape.

**Notice the dash trim and seats are identical to the seats in the 1972 Car & Driver article(clack/white photos).

    THE ENGINE/SUSPENSION

Being a Time Capsule Survivor no doubt it will need some attention, the question is how do you want to attend to its needs? Some collectors want them preserved all original.

    • detailed inspection at Newport Beach Porsche. Techs believe the car is 100% original and needs some brake work..
    • Car was also visually inspected by reputable European Collectibles in Costa Mesa, Ca who also agree the car is all original. COA is currently on Order.

    PRICE

Price is a sensitive subject on a car like this:
If you price it to high people say "what are they smoking" "they are crazy if they think its worth that" If you price it to low people say "whats wrong with it" "something has to be wrong with it if its priced that low"
Websites like AutoTrader or Cars.com automatically sort from highest price to lowest. If you price your car the highest your sure to get exposure. If you price it the lowest only the people searching from lowest to highest see it. If you price it competitively in the middle many people won't see it because they don't take/have the time to click thru every page.

So my question to you the potential buyer is: where should I price it? More importantly what will you pay for it?

We offer limousine airport (SNA) pick-up if you're flying in to pick-up this beautiful vehicle or we can help facilitate shipping directly to your front door.
