'Robust and Exclusive'
So says the banner hanging in the Austrian factory charged with building the Geländewagen (cross-country vehicle) for Mercedes-Benz and nothing could be more apropos when describing this legendary utility vehicle. Originally developed as a military vehicle in the early 1970s, the G-Wagen has been offered in civilian spec overseas since 1979 and in the USA beginning with the 2002 model year.
A recent trade on a newer G500, this one-owner example arrives in classic Black over Black leather and sports a 5.0L V8 producing 292 hp and 336 lb-ft of torque. Having travelled an impressive 332,000+ miles, this G-Wagen shows no signs of slowing down and is ready to experience new adventures with its next steward. She wears her battle scars proudly and represents a great and inexpensive entry into the G-Class enthusiast subculture.
Recently recieved the Mercedes-Benz High Mileage Award for surpassing the 500,000 km (310,686 miles) mark. She'll be eligible for the next award at 750,000 km (466,028 miles). Will you be the one to take her there?
