AFTER BUILDING HOT RODS AND MOTORCYCLES FOR YEARS GLEN FELT THE NEED FOR SPEED. HE IS NO STRANGER TO QUALITY AND PERFECTION AS MOST OF HIS BUILDS HAVE BEEN SHOWCASED IN NATIONAL MAGAZINES. THIS CAR IS WELL DOCUMENTED ON HIS WEBSITE AND WELL DOCUMENTED ON THE YELLOW BULLET FORUM. THIS NOVA IS AN ORIGINAL ARIZONA CAR THAT WAS DELIVERED FROM BROWN AND BROWN CHEVROLET HERE IN MESA AZ IN 1966. WE STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL AND THE ORIGINAL PROTECTO PLATE FOR THE CAR. WHEN THE CAR SHOWED UP AT GLENS SHOP THE FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS WAS TO REMOVE THE MILD STEEL CHRIS ALSTON CHASSISWORKS PRO STREET CHASSIS THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER INSTALLED UNDER THE CAR. THE POWER PLANT IN THIS NOVA IS A STEVE MORRIS F3 PROCHARGED 540ci DART BIG BLOCK ENGINE WHICH IS MATED TO A HUGHES XP4 PRO MOD TRANSMISSION. THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION FUNCTION PERFECT AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS. THE ENGINE WAS ORIGINALLY DYNO TUNED AT STEVE’S SHOP AND MADE 2,252hp RUNNING Q16 FUEL. ONCE THE CAR WAS COMPLETED STEVE TRACK TUNED THE CAR WITH GLEN AT THE STRIP IN LAS VEGAS LAST NOVEMBER. THE CAR HAS 2 FULL PASSES AND 20 PARTIAL PASSES DURING TUNING. THE CAR HAS NEVER MADE A FULL POWER PASS AS GLEN IS A ROOKIE DRIVER AND NEVER FELT GOOD ENOUGH TO PUT ALL THE POWER DOWN. THE NOVA WAS A RUST FREE ARIZONA CAR WHEN THE PROCESS WAS STARTED. THE BODY IS LAZER STRAIGHT AND SHOWS NO INCONSISTENCIES. THE CAR FEATURES A STUNNING GINGERALE METALLIC GREEN PAINT SCHEME THAT WAS APPLIED USING ALL PPG PAINT PRODUCTS. THE PAINT IS BASECOAT CLEAR COAT AND THE PAINT CODE WILL BE PROVIDED TO THE NEW OWNER. THE CAR WAS BUILT TO BE ABLE TO RUN A 10.5W OR A 16.5” WIDE TIRE. THE CAR HAS HAD AND HAS RUN WITH 16.5” TIRES INSTALLED AND THERE IS PLENTY OF CLEARANCE. THE FRONT TIRES SHOW EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH OVER 95% TREAD LIFE LEFT. THE REAR TIRES WERE JUST REPLACED AND HAVE 2 PASSES ON THEM FROM FEBRUARY BEFORE OUR RACE SEASON ENDED.
THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR WAS COMPELTELY COLOR MATCHED TO THE CHASSIS. THE CUSTOM INTERIOR FINISHES WERE STITCHED BY GLENN KRAMER FROM HOT ROD INTERIORS BY GLENN IN GLENDALE ARIZONA.
