SUMMARY:
American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Honda) is recalling certain model year 2003-2007 Accord, 2001-2005 Civic, 2003-2005 Civic Hybrid, 2003-2005 Civic NGV, 2002-2006 CR-V, 2003-2011 Element, 2007-2008 Fit, and 2002-2004 Odyssey, 2003-2008 Pilot, and 2006-2014 Ridgeline vehicles. The passenger frontal airbag inflator in your vehicle may rupture when deploying during a crash. The potential for such ruptures may occur in some of the subject airbag inflators after several years of exposure to persistent conditions of high absolute humidity. Honda suggests that you avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall repair has been performed.
SAFETY RISK:
In the event of a passenger frontal airbag inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, potentially resulting in injury to vehicle occupants. The risk of such an occurrence increases over time. It is imperative you schedule an appointment with an authorized Honda dealer now to avoid this condition in the future.
REMEDY:
Please call any authorized Honda dealer and make an appointment to have your vehicle repaired. Your dealer will replace the passenger's front airbag inflator with an inflator of a different design, free of charge. For additional information and assistance in locating a Honda dealer, please visit www.recalls.honda.com or contact American Honda’s Customer Support & Campaign Center at 1-888-234-2138.

SUMMARY:
American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Honda) is recalling certain model year 2001-2007 Accord, 2001-2005 Civic, 2003-2005 Civic Hybrid, 2001-2005 Civic NGV, 2002-2007 and 2010-2011 CR-V, 2003-2011 Element, 2002-2004 Odyssey, 2003-2008 Pilot, and 2006-2014 Ridgeline. A replacement driver frontal airbag inflator was installed in your vehicle to remedy a previous airbag inflator recall, or that a driver frontal airbag module containing the replacement inflator was installed in your vehicle as a service part. The replacement driver frontal airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure upon deployment. If an affected airbag deploys, the increased internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture.
SAFETY RISK:
In the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material and into the vehicle interior at high speed, potentially causing serious injury or death to you or others in the vehicle.
REMEDY:
Please call any Honda automobile dealer and make an appointment to have the driver frontal airbag inflator replaced for free. For additional questions or to get help locating a dealer, owners may contact American Honda Customer Support and Campaign Center at 1-888-234-2138.
